About Us:
Motel 1788 is near "The Split". Caye Caulker was split in two by Hurricane Hatti in 1962. The resulting channel, called "The Split" is popular with swimmers, snorklers, and fishermen.
All of our rooms have double beds and private baths with hot and cold water. Some rooms have air conditioning, and cable television.

4 rooms with shared bath, 3 rooms have a double bed in each and one room has 3 single size beds. Great for backpackers who want a private room with budget prices.
High season: $20 per room
Low season: $15 per room

Reservation Policy:
A non-refundable 10% deposit with the Tropical Travel Association is required in order to confirm your reservation. The 90% balance is due to the hotel upon arrival. In special circumstances Motel 1788 has the right to apply additional requirements as long as they do so before the 10% deposit is paid.

Sand and Sun:
Located one mile west of Belize Barrier Reef, Caye Caulker is a a four mile long island, part of a chain of islands forming the Belize Barrier Reef. Caye Caulker has a relaxing atmosphere with white sand streets, golf carts for transportation, and casual dress with no shoes.
The weather is usually quite pleasant year around. You can enjoy sailing, diving, birding, jungle tours, fishing, and windsurfing in the clear azure waters of the Caribbean.
