About Us:

Tobacco Caye Lodge is a great location for those who wish to simply relax, meditate, fantasize about Caribbean Pirates or Spanish Galleons who passed this way, or just read in a hammock under a coconut tree.

Facilities & Services:
Six double or triple bedded beachfront cabins, private balcony with personal hammock, private bathroom, and rainwater shower, solar powered fans and lights. The cabins all face the sea and reef in the east with outstanding sunrises on most days. Diving facilities are available on the island although if one person in a group is not keen to dive and prefers just to snorkel, this is an ideal location as the snorkeling is almost as good as the diving.

A cosy restaurant serving succulent seafood, delicious Belizean dishes and vegetarian on request. A well located open-air thatched bar on the beach and waters edge, on the west of the island, well away from the cabins, a great spot for watching dramatic sunsets whilst sipping a favourite tropical cocktail.

You can snorkel, dive the western hemisphere's best barrier reef, or simply swim in the warm waters amongst butterfly, clown, snapper, parrot, angel, or squirrel fish. At sunrise, or just before, you can arrange to go fishing beyond the reef. At sundown you can fish off the pier, perhaps with a cold beer, a rum and coconut water or something more exotic such as a tequila sunrise, or just enjoy a drink watching the sunset.

Children ages 12 and up will be charged a full rate.
Children ages 11 and less are charged 50%.

Activities:

Reservation Policy:
A non-refundable 10% deposit with the Tropical Travel Association is required in order to confirm your reservation. The 90% balance is due to the hotel upon arrival. In special circumstances Tobacco Caye Lodge has the right to apply additional requirements as long as they do so before the 10% deposit is paid.

How to find us.
Tobacco Caye Lodge is located on Tobacco Caye which is a five-acre coral island perched on the barrier reef, about twenty-five minutes by boat from Dangriga. It is also on the northern tip of the South Water Caye Marine Reserve.

Once in Belize, the quickest way to Tobacco Caye is by Maya/Island Air or Tropic Air from the International Airport or Belize City airport to Dangriga. Once in Dangriga, a small mainly Garifuna town of about 8000 people, you should take a taxi to the Riverside café where you can arrange a water taxi (Captain Buck is one of the best) to the island.

If you have the time, a more economical and interesting way to get to Dangriga is by Z Line Bus Service which takes about 2 ½ hours by bus and costs US$5 (one way).
